△ 第四類：從不會認為自己愚昧的聰明人
筆者稱這類人為「盛品愚」smart and smug fools，
因為他們是 cream of a sick society！
「盛品愚」的優點是聰明、投機、霸氣、驕傲、自負、
充滿自信，充滿「正能量」！
「盛品愚」的缺點是他們以為
1. 度橋能力就是思考能力。
2. 懂得如何利用人及控制人就是有智慧。
3. 所謂「務實」realistic，就是識時務。
4. 不違法的行為就是合乎道德的行為。
5. 有商有量，願意討價還價，就是成熟的表現。
6. 既然自己在某一範疇內有研究。
有豐富的學問，算是這範疇內的成功人士，
就假設自己在其他範疇亦有相等的才華，
同樣應該高人一等。

一個只重視「教書」，不重視「教育」的社會，
只重視背誦、守規和尊師，
不重視批判思維、哲學思考和擁抱真理的社會，
必然會生產出「盛品愚」這類人物，
並且誤以為他們就是社會的棟樑。
「盛品愚」雖然思考能力不足，
但在某一方面的度橋能力接近一流，
所以他們相當自負，認為自己是社會上的精英，
在同類人互相吹捧及互拍馬屁之下，
就假設了自己在各方面都有優秀的度橋能力，
認為自己不只是偏才，更是通才！
其中不乏道貌岸然，有頭有面的人。
Success makes a fool seem wise.
He is wise because he gets away
from the inferiority complex.
He is a fool because he will soon
develop the superiority complex.
換言之，他們假設了偏才中的優秀者會自動升級為通才。
We’ve bought into the idea that education is
about training and “success”, defined monetarily,
rather than learning to think critically and
to challenge. We should not forget that the
true purpose of education is to make minds,
not careers.
A culture that does not grasp the vital interplay
between morality and power, which mistakes
management techniques for wisdom, which fails
to understand that the measure of a
civilization is its compassion, not its speed or
ability to consume, condemns itself to death.
Morality is the product of a civilization,
but the elites know little of these traditions.
They are products of a moral void. They lack
clarity about themselves and their culture.
They can fathom only their own personal
troubles. They do not see their own biases
or the causes of their own frustrations.
They are blind to the gaping inadequacies
in our economic, social, and political structure
and do not grasp that these structures,
which they have been taught to serve,
must be radically modified or even abolished
to stave off disaster.
They have been rendered mute and ineffectual.

[精英也有愚昧的天賦潛能]
「盛品愚」一向以個人的名、利、權為重，
雖然他們對名、利、權的比重和分配，各有不同的傾向。
所謂照顧團體的利益，只不過是用來行騙的藉口。
其中冷靜，只懂得經濟思考，不懂得其他學問的人，
知道自己所擁有一切抽象、不能量化的東西，
都有一個比一般人更高、更可觀的價錢，
所以隨時可以因為重大的利益而出售，
用種種解釋說服自己放棄「誠信」，
甚至一不做、二不休，完全放棄「誠信」。
Smart and smug fools have made honesty
a rare human quality.
They climb uphill by thinking ugly thoughts
and by joining force with thugs together.
重視名氣的「盛品愚」，多數讀書叻，有博士或專業學位，
擠身在學術界的 pundit，成為學術界的斯文敗類，
而擠身在上流社會的，就循序漸進，
依次扮演九正一邪、八正二邪、七正三邪的角色。
小人何嘗不是和君子一樣自強不息！
這就是社會上出現許多「智庫」的原因之一。
問題是這些「智庫」往往是度橋上位致富的「智力庫」，
而並非為人民服務的「智慧庫」。

[重視金錢的盛品愚]
重視金錢的「盛品愚」，
他們心目中「好的生活」單純用金錢來量度，
他們認為妥協就是成熟，所以甚麼都可以妥協，
所以他們喜歡法利賽人，認為教會應該做生意賺大錢，
因為「宗教精神」完全不切實際，
只可以視為用作行騙的口號。
他們認為耶穌基督這種死不妥協的人應該釘上十字架。
不過「盛品愚」必然口心不一，
口裡是相當尊敬有宗教「信念」的人士，
希望所有宗教都能夠和平共存。
部份「盛品愚」當然亦會加入教會，
感覺上和加入黑社會的人相同，都是跟「大佬」嗎！
不少「盛品愚」在資本主義社會中為富豪度橋，
不但在灰色地帶行騙，
更用「寡頭壟斷、鍊爆利潤」的無形之手，
加劇了社會的貧富懸殊，
公司生意欠佳時更加會「不擇手段」，
因為「盛品愚」和他們的老闆只會打他們的如意算盤，
所以低層勞工的利益，一定不會獲得合理的分配。
一般「中品愚」只有 get-rich-first ethos，
但「盛品愚」和他們的老闆則有
get-rich-first-and-forever ethos.
合理的貧富懸殊應該只是反映人類個別的
「智力、勤勞、運氣」三大因素，
不合理的貧富懸殊就加進了
「弱智制度、官商勾結、貪瀆盛行、寡頭壟斷」這四大因素。
重視金錢的「盛品愚」認為，
我們不必問我們為社會做了甚麼，
我們只要問可以從社會中榨取和剝削到甚麼。
We have to grasp, as Marx and Adam Smith did,
that corporations are not concerned with the
common good. They exploit, pollute, impoverish,
repress, kill, and lie to make money. They throw
poor people out of homes, let the uninsured die,
wage useless wars for profit, poison and pollute
the ecosystem, slash social assistance programs,
gut public education, trash the global economy,
plunder the U.S. Treasury and crush all popular
movements that seek justice for working men
and women. They worship money and power.

他們假設了自私自利是好的，老闆剝削是好的，所以
1.「老闆賺盡」乃天經地義，
包括一切和市民生活息息相關的公眾事業在內。
2. 培育蜜蜂人和螞蟻人這種新世代、新品種的奴隸，天經地義。
只要新品種的奴隸供應夠多，就不用愁低廉的人力資源不足。
只需要讓蜜蜂人和螞蟻人享用「僅能生存的經濟」，
就不用愁人民將思想置諸政治改革之上。
3. 只看競爭的自由，不理會人民生活的自由。
4. 只計算經濟增長率，不計算道德及腐敗增長率。
The idea that disparity is an inevitable fact
of organization of a society is not correct.
And societies can sustain a certain level of
disparity without question, and that has been
true for a long time in the United States.
But massive disparity where you create an
oligarchical elite that dominates most of the
wealth, then you distort your entire system.

He said that in that situation,
your two options become tyranny or revolution.

重視金錢的盛品愚和他們的老闆共同創造了一種意識形態，
就是「幫人打工不如自己做老闆」及
「當其他機構提供更好的報酬，就立即跳槽」。
