藝術最緊要是作者發自內心的真和誠，
音樂藝術多了一個條件，就是演繹者的真和誠，
真可以解釋為純真，而誠可以解釋為熱誠。
When a young artist comes to me and says,
“I want to be famous and rich,” I ask him
to leave because this is not the reason to
make art. Those things are just side effects
that you may be lucky enough to achieve.
Your reason for doing art should be
much deeper. You know you are an artist
if you have to do art──it’s like breathing

然而有些音樂藝術作品的特點，
是重視用人數來決定藝術價值和品味的高低，
所以吵耳，或者喃喃自語，說話形式的音樂，
囉囉嗦嗦、有時喜歡扮作高深的自言自語，
再將自言自語配上音符，會被視為好的樂曲，
其實完全視乎樂曲的優秀程度。
雖然這類音樂藝術有其存在的價值，
但它們屬於不應該浪費時間去欣賞的音樂！
珠玉在前，是給懂得珠玉的人欣賞的；
噪音是給喜歡噪音的人欣賞的；
而囉囉嗦嗦、自言自語的音樂，
是給喜歡囉囉嗦嗦、自言自語的人欣賞的。
但從人類精神文明進化的角度來判斷，
我們亦應該容忍藝術欣賞方面的歧視，
拒絕對劣品的音樂尊重，可以是正能量，
例如積極上進就是一種對懶的歧視，
例如去蕪存菁就是一種對蕪的歧視，
例如擇善固執就是一種對惡的歧視，
所謂「仁愛、喜樂、和平」當然要批判，否則成為藉口。
一件藝術品的評審當然包括許多角度，
但不能擺脫時代視野和精神文明。
「真、誠、愛、浩然正氣、思考、言之有物、勇氣」，
當然應該是決定一件藝術品是否「上品」的因素之一。
藝術這個花花世界，當然可以逃避哲學思考，
但任何逃避哲學思考和批判的藝術，
和「人文精神」還可以有甚麼關係？
如果我們批評科學家缺乏「人文精神」，
那麼，逃避哲學思考和批判的藝術家，
何嘗不是缺乏「人文精神」？
所以如果所謂「人文精神」的定義好像一碟揚州炒飯，
意圖將藝術和哲學混為一談，
就很容易犯上思考混淆的毛病。
在美國反戰的六十年代，
美國有不少有良知有正義感的歌手參與反越戰，
其中一位是獲得2016年諾貝爾文學獎的 Bob Dylan，
他寫了一首經典名曲，寫了一首經典名曲，
名叫《 Blowing in the Wind 》(1962)，
歌詞 lyrics 配合了樂曲，產生錦上添花的效果，
有不少歌手及組合都唱過這首歌，其中之一為：

將歌詞翻譯 [意譯] 如下：

但你只要留心傾聽，就可以聽得到！
然而並非所有人都能夠看得到，抓得著，
因為即使用心眼來看、心耳來聽，
也容易左眼入、右眼出，左耳入、右耳出。
答案，最後飄去了甚麼地方？
你是否抓得著？抓著之後又是否願意牢牢地抓著？
這首歌讓筆者想起了「孤星淚/悲慘世界」Les Miserables
